Y6 Home learning updated 2nd April 2020
Thank you for sending us pictures and messages about your wonderful work and activities.
Please find below links to online learning while school is closed.
Each fortnight we will update your work on Active Learn and Spelling Shed. We have set you some new activities for the next few weeks until after Easter. We have also set you a really fun book to read. Access this through your Active Learn account as usual. When you’ve read the book you can do a book review or make a poster to describe the book.
You may complete any outstanding topic work from the WW2 topic homework list.
In your plastic folder you also have all your CGP SATs books for maths, SPAG and reading. You also have your brown SATs papers folders which can be completed.
(If you were not in school on Thursday 19th March or Friday 20th March your packs are waiting for you at school.) Please can we ask that when you come to school for your packs that you return your child’s reading book also?
If you have ordered a new pack to be printed for after Easter these will be available from Monday 20th April.
We would like you to log in to Pobble365 every day and complete the English activities for each day. You can print them out or write in the exercise book that we have included in the packs that you have brought home from school.
Your parents can also use the following link to access the free year 6 home learning packs from Twinkl.
The code to access the free resources is: CVDTWINKLHELPS

Please keep up with your reading at home every day. Also, remember if you joined the library recently you have access to plenty of books that you can read online.
Here is a link to a site where your child can listen to stories too.
White Rose Maths have made daily lessons for your children for free. You don’t need a login. There are also videos to help you teach the lessons.
Also, David Walliams is reading one of his stories every day at 11am – they are very entertaining.
If you would like to continue your French work, please find below a link to a workbook that you can download.
**Another site which we have access to thanks to one of our governors is mymaths.co.uk. This has lots of interactive activities on, but for each area, there are also attached lessons, which make it much easier to work through the activities with the children. The login details are as follows:
The children do not have their own individual logins but if you choose the Middle School tab, click on an area of maths relevant to year 6, click on online homework then click practice. You can read through the lesson notes with your children first if you wish. You can also click on the Classic Mymaths tab and look for Y6 work.
Let us know how you get on.
