At Corrie we value art and design, children are supported to extend their skills and self confidence, they are helped to become reflective learners by critiquing their own and peers work in order to reach their full potential. Children are finding their own voice through a range of cross curricular experiences linked to Kagan topics which challenge them to develop their creativity. Many of the children at Corrie have completed Arts Award log books. Our achievement of Artsmark Gold status gives quality assurance in our striving for excellence. It is an indicator of the value we place upon our art provision and marks our commitment to progress.
Aims
- Produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences.
- Become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques.
- Evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design.
- Know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
