Y6 Home learning updated 13th July 2020
If you are missing hugs and contact from loved family members…
We hope you are all safe and well. Please keep sending us pictures and messages about your wonderful work and activities, either through Facebook or the Year 6 email.
New Learning Packs for the last 2 weeks of term.
These packs will be available to collect from school from Monday 13th July or if you prefer you can find the links below in order to download them yourself.
If you would like your exercise books from your time in Y6, please come to school before 17th July to collect them. They will be outside with the work packs – weather permitting.
Please try and complete the maths and English lessons every day and do something different in the afternoons. The links to our Ancient Greece topic is below and there is a link to a science booklet. We would still love to see your creative projects.
There are still many other sites that you can also continue to access.
Congratulations to the children who are continuing to access the Active Learn activities and Spelling Shed games.
If you haven’t logged in for a while:
We are continuing to regularly update your work on Active Learn. We have set you some new activities for the next three weeks. Some of the maths activities are different to the ones we normally send you – so why not login to your account and have a look. We have also set you some really fun books to read. Access this through your Active Learn account as usual. When you’ve read the book you can do a book review or make a poster to describe the book. There are also questions to answer for each book. Also, there are some new activities around SPAG. Also carry on with your spelling using Spelling Shed or Spelling Frame. There is a new TTRockstars battle of the bands set up too. 6L are still leading this battle.
Normally, in school, we would be continuing our topic on Ancient Greece. There are lists of activities to complete, if you would like to.
Have a go at these projects too.

White Rose Maths have made daily lessons for your children for free. You don’t need a login. There are also videos to help you teach the lessons. These are also excellent. We can send you the worksheets if you email us.
If you want to continue your computing work you may complete Scratch missions from their website or how about trying the following website which teaches you about computational thinking. You don’t need a computer for some of the activities.

Below is a link to Oxford Owl for Home. Parents can join for free and their children can read ebooks and complete activities to do with reading, maths and English. Please keep up with your reading at home every day. Also, remember if you joined the library recently you have access to plenty of books that you can read online.
Here is a link to a site where your child can listen to stories too.
If you would like to continue your French work, please find below a link to a workbook that you can download.
**Another site which we have access to thanks to one of our governors is mymaths.co.uk. This has lots of interactive activities on, but for each area, there are also attached lessons, which make it much easier to work through the activities with the children. The login details are as follows:
The children do not have their own individual logins but if you choose the Middle School tab, click on an area of maths relevant to year 6, click on online homework then click practice. You can read through the lesson notes with your children first if you wish. You can also click on the Classic Mymaths tab and look for Y6 work.
Remember to get involved with art, craft and music too. It would be lovely to see any creative work that you have done at home with your families.
Look after each other and be kind.
