Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing OK. Remember to keep using all of the fantastic online tools that are available. All of the information for how to get onto these is below. I have also made lots of new allocations on the Active Learn website, including some spelling, grammar and writing tasks as well as more maths tasks.
Dear Parents / Carers,
Just to make you aware of the different online resources that are available for you to use whilst school is closed. Most of these can be accessed by the teachers, so we can keep up to date with where you are up to. Remember, for TT Rockstars, Active Learn and Spelling Shed, the login details are at the back of the children’s homework books.
-TT Rockstars. The battles are still available and the children should be regularly practicing all of their tables. Remember, if they can earn 1000 points per week, they will be well on their way to mastering their tables knowledge.
-Active Learn. I will be putting new tasks on the active learn website all the time. There will be interactive games, like we usually have, but there will also be workbook and worksheet activities for the children to complete.
-Spelling Shed. The children should also be using spelling shed regularly. Again, I will be updating the words and activities that the children can access on here.
-Yumu. As part of the children’s music curriculum, they have online access to Yumu which is part of the Charanga music scheme we follow in school. I have attached a letter which provides the login details for this site. When the children access this, they will see the activities that I have attached for them to complete. Again, I can see where they are up to with this and add more when necessary.
-Twinkl. This is an online resource that is currently being offered to parents with one month’s free access to the entire site to try to help parents to manage the school closures.
Advice on how to access this from the Twinkl website is as follows:
Step 1: Go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer
Step 2: Enter the code you have received, or CVDTWINKLHELPS if you have not yet been given a code
We have a number of really helpful guides, designed for parents, for different areas of the curriculum. You can direct parents towards our dedicated Parents’ Hub which contains hundreds of educational activities designed for use at home. Or, browse this area yourself and hand-pick individual resources to share.
For parents with children in EYFS, take a look through our EYFS for Parents area to find some really useful guides and activities to share.
For primary-aged children, take a look at our 5-11 area. Again, this was created with parents in mind so it’s filled with guides and information about what children should be learning in each year group, for each curriculum area.
-DiscoveryEducation (Espresso): The login details for these interactive resources are as follows:
Login at: www.discoveryeducation.co.uk
-Another site which we have access to thanks to one of our governors is mymaths.co.uk. This has lots of interactive activities on, but for each area, there are also attached lessons, which make it much easier to work through the activities with the children. We will let you know which areas are the best for your children to work on through the website. The login details are as follows:
-As well as the online access which will be available, there is a new homework menu sheet which has been produced for the children to complete a variety of tasks either in their homework books or more practically.
There is also an attached booklet which provides additional work for the children to do in terms of keeping up with science and other foundation subjects. This also contains some additional maths and English activities. Many of these activities are taken from the above Twinkl website, so there will be additional support on there to help with these activities.
We can be contacted on email@example.com
Stay safe and look after each other.
All children have been issued with a home learning pack. If you have access to the internet, please ask your child to access all the fabulous learning resources available to them as an alternative to the pack or as a support tool.

HOME LEARNING LINKS / IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER
Every half term the children will receive ‘Take Away Homework’ a menu of homework activities linked to our Topic. If you would like to email us your child’s homework please email to firstname.lastname@example.orgFAO Mr. Griffin. They are expected to complete one activity from the list each week.

REMEMBER: all homework needs to be completed each week and handed in by each Wednesday to achieve GREEN for Homework in your Assertive Mentoring. If you hand it in on Thursday you will achieve YELLOW and after that you will achieve RED for that week.
You all have an ACTIVE LEARN and Times Tables Rockstars login for other Maths activities, games and multiplication facts practise to enjoy at home online. The children also have a login for the spelling shed. Please ask an adult to see your teacher for a replacement card if you lose or forget your login. Web links:
