Corrie has always been part of my life as I attended the school from the age of 4 and my own two children attended Corrie up to 2009. As a parent I was involved with the PTA and stood as treasurer for many years and I also helped out as a classroom volunteer. I have been a Governor at Corrie for in excess of 15 years; initially I stood as a Parent Governor then became a Community Governor when my two children left Corrie and most recently as a Co Opted Governor.
Currently I am Chair of the Curriculum and Standards Committee and I am a member of the Finance and Resources Committee. As part of my role as governor I visit school as often as I can to observe the pupils engaging in their learning and enjoyment of taking part in the extra curriculum activities. I also enjoy watching the pupils show their talent participating in the many school productions and talent competitions.
I am thankful for the opportunities I had when attending Corrie to enable me to develop life skills and succeed academically to become a nurse; this is why I chose to be a Governor at Corrie to work hard with the other Governors and School staffing team to ensure our current and future pupils have every opportunity possible to achieve their best academically, emotionally and socially in a safe and nurturing environment provided by a team who are passionate to help every child achieve their individual potential.
