Resource Base

The Resource base team would like to welcome you to our class page.

Our resource provision caters for pupils who have difficulties accessing mainstream lessons for many different reasons. They require a specialist environment within a mainstream school to support their access to the curriculum.

Our aim is to provide pupils with high quality teaching and learning based on careful assessment of every pupil’s needs. We aim to provide a nurturing environment where every pupil is given the opportunity to thrive and succeed. We are supported by speech and language therapists who assess pupils needs and offer advice and training to staff.

The resource base can accommodate 10 pupils from nursery to Year 2 and is staffed by a class teacher and 3 members of support staff. Where it is deemed appropriate some pupils will access some mainstream lessons with support, while also receiving individual and small group teaching.
Places at the resource base are allocated by Tameside Local Authority.
